Seismic vulnerability assessment of RC curved bridges piers subjected to bidirectional earthquake

Curved beam bridge is a kind of irregular structure, which has the advantage adapting to complex terrain, but it more vulnerable damage than regular under earthquake. This paper investigates vulnerability curved continuous girder bridges action bidirectional earthquake horizontal earthquake, and difference between side pier intermediate analyzed. Fragility assessment performed using an incremental dynamic analysis method subjected wide range as-recorded sequences. A proper engineering demand parameter (EDP) can result in most probability failure at employed this study determined. Result indicates that only considering unidirectional seismic input will underestimate response potential not accurate for performance evaluation bridge. also shows higher pier, serious failure, smaller two piers.
